On June 25, the Ministry of Transport (MOT), together with four other departments including the National Railway Administration (NRA) and the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), jointly issued the "AI Plus Transportation" Action Plan for Innovation in Typical Application Scenarios.To drive the digital, intelligent and green transformation of the transportation system, the document explicitly proposes to accelerate the large-scale innovative application of "AI Plus Transportation". The plan focuses on ten key areas such as intelligent driving, smart highways and intelligent shipping. It encourages testing and verification of end-to-end large models for intelligent driving in scenarios including trunk highway freight and short-distance shuttle services in industrial parks, and supports the intelligent navigation of ship formations as well as port automation upgrading.By rolling out high-value typical application scenarios in batches, this policy aims to fully empower the comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network with cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies, and speed up the large-scale commercial deployment of new technologies, new equipment and new business forms in the intelligent transport sector.
