On June 19, the Ministry of Transport (MOT) issued Announcement No. 35 of 2026.According to the announcement, the Technical Specification for Construction of Shore-Based Charging Facilities for Electric Ships (JTS/T 341—2026) is officially promulgated as a recommended industry standard for water transport engineering construction, and shall come into effect on August 1, 2026.This specification applies to the new construction and renovation of public shore-based DC charging facilities for electric ships at wharves and water service areas. It explicitly stipulates that the charging mode of public charging facilities shall be DC charging, while the maximum output voltage should be 1500V DC.This initiative further strengthens the consistency and uniqueness of both hardware and software interfaces for ship-shore power connections, provides clear guidance for the high-standard construction of shore-based supporting charging facilities for electric ships, and effectively underpins the green transformation of the water transport sector.
