On June 26, the National Energy Administration (NEA) officially issued the Action Plan for Energy Conservation and Carbon Reduction in the Energy Sector (2026–2028). Guided by the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, the Action Plan focuses on all links of energy production, supply, storage, transportation and consumption. It aims to further advance energy conservation and carbon reduction in the fossil energy industry and scale up the substitution of fossil energy by non-fossil energy. By 2028, the proportion of non-fossil energy in total energy consumption will increase by approximately one percentage point annually. A number of zero-carbon and low-carbon coal mining areas and oil regions will be built, and support will be provided for the development of a batch of zero-carbon parks. View Details >
