On June 13th, the Qingdao Municipal Government issued the "Qingdao's Action Plan for High-Quality Development of the New Energy Vehicle Industry (2024—2025)" and proposed that by 2025, the city aims to achieve a production volume of 400,000 vehicles. The plan includes nurturing two new energy vehicle manufacturers capable of producing over 100,000 vehicles annually, with the overall scale of the vehicle manufacturing industry expected to reach approximately 120 billion yuan. The initiative also focuses on promoting the application and achieving large-scale demonstration. By 2025, the penetration rate of new vehicles in the market is expected to reach about 45%, with a total ownership of approximately 450,000 vehicles. Efforts will be intensified to expand the construction of charging infrastructure; the city aims for more than 40,000 public charging stations and over 110,000 residential charging facilities, with rural areas achieving 15,000 charging stations.
