Targets, Pathways, Benefit Analysis and Policy Recommendations for Motor Vehicle Pollution and carbon emissions Reduction in China
This report mainly includes research in three aspects. Firstly, it quantifies the demand for carbon pollution reduction in road transportation driven by the two strategic goals of "Beautiful China" and "Peaking Carbon Emissions." This is done through a "top-down" approach. Secondly, considering the technical feasibility and regional differences of the clean paths for motor vehicles, it proposes a coordinated control path for the nationwide and different regional motor vehicle pollution reduction from the supply side using a "bottom-up" approach. Thirdly, it quantifies and simulates the carbon and pollution emissions, air quality improvement, and environmental health benefits of different clean paths proposed in Task 2. Finally, considering the air quality improvement and environmental health benefits of different clean paths, policy recommendations are made to promote the process of zero-emission for motor vehicles.
