On July 12, the Guangzhou Municipal Government issued the "Implementation Plan for the National Carbon Peaking Pilot (Guangzhou)" and proposed continuing to deepen the low-carbon transition in transportation. The plan aims to accelerate the development of green and low-carbon transportation modes, explore the establishment of near-zero emission freight corridors, and promote the transition to near-zero emissions in road transportation. Efforts will also be made to advance the low-carbon transformation of transportation equipment, with a focus on expanding the demonstration scale of hydrogen-powered construction waste transport vehicles. The share of new energy vehicles in new car production, sales, and overall vehicle ownership will be gradually increased. Additionally, the plan promotes the green and low-carbon transformation of shipping, with an emphasis on developing green shipping. Prioritizing the application of electric ships, especially in the Pearl River tours, the plan aims to establish demonstration routes for electric ships. The construction of green transportation infrastructure will also be accelerated, with the installation of charging and battery swapping facilities in residential areas, public parking lots, highway service areas, and bus stations. Moreover, the plan calls for a coordinated approach to planning and constructing hydrogen refueling stations, encouraging the modification or expansion of existing gas stations and fueling stations to include hydrogen refueling facilities.
