On January 9, the Shanghai Municipal Government released the "Action Plan for New Energy Storage Demonstration and Innovative Development (2025-2030)." The plan emphasizes accelerating the creation of cities for Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) demonstration applications, strengthening the integration of charging stations, the grid, and vehicles to expand V2G usage scenarios.For charging stations, the plan outlines the rapid development of V2G systems in residential areas and the steady rollout of V2G demonstration projects in public charging stations, aiming to build 30,000 to 50,000 smart charging and discharging stations by 2030. On the grid side, the plan focuses on developing and optimizing new energy storage intelligent aggregation systems. It proposes the introduction of time-of-use electricity pricing mechanisms for charging and discharging, encouraging users to charge regularly and discharge during peak hours to secure stable earnings, with further integration into the electricity market in the long term.On the vehicle side, the plan supports Shanghai’s new energy vehicle policies to promote vehicle discharging functionality.
