On February 25th, eight departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Transport launched the second batch of pilot projects for the full electrification of vehicles in the public sector in ten cities, namely Tianjin, Changzhou, Wuxi, Yibin, Linyi, Huainan, Xi'an, Xianyang, Weinan, and the Xiongan New Area. It is expected that these 10 cities will promote the addition of over 250,000 new energy vehicles in areas such as taxis, urban buses, postal and express delivery vehicles, and urban logistics and distribution vehicles, and build more than 240,000 charging piles. It is estimated that this will save more than 1.4 million tons of fuel and reduce carbon emissions by over 4.5 million tons annually. The purpose of this pilot is to promote the innovative application of new technologies and models such as vehicle - grid interaction, photovoltaic - energy storage - charging - swapping, and intelligent networking. It will also work in concert with efforts to shore up weaknesses in charging and swapping facilities in counties, conduct "vehicle - road - cloud integration" pilot projects, and encourage vehicle trade - ins, so as to comprehensively expand the market - based application of new energy vehicles.
