On September 8, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration issued the "Implementation Opinions on Promoting the High-Quality Development of the 'AI+' Energy Sector". The document mentions that, in response to the needs of energy supply security and green low-carbon transition, efforts will be made to advance the application of artificial intelligence technology in flexible regulation resources such as virtual power plants (including load aggregators), distributed energy storage, and electric vehicle vehicle-grid interaction, thereby enhancing the load-side cluster optimization and dynamic response capabilities. It also emphasizes strengthening the application of AI technology in the collaborative optimization scheduling of new energy storage and power systems, as well as in full lifecycle safety, to promote intelligent optimization of renewable energy hydrogen production processes. Furthermore, the document highlights the need to enhance the role of AI technology in enabling energy-saving and carbon emission management during energy production, improving the comprehensive energy efficiency and carbon reduction levels of integrated energy systems that supply electricity, heat, cooling, and gas in a multi-energy complementary manner. It also calls for promoting the application of AI in zero-carbon parks, smart microgrids, and computing-power coordination, to elevate the intelligent operation level of integrated source-grid-load-storage systems and facilitate the local consumption of renewable energy.
