Xumei Chen is mainly engaged in research on urban transportation development strategies and policies, urban public transportation regulations and standards, low-carbon transportation technologies, and age-appropriate and barrier-free travel. She has presided over more than 20 national, provincial and ministerial level and international cooperation projects, and participated in the formulation of a number of major regulations and planning policies for urban transportation industry by the Ministry of Transport.
