Before joining SCUT in 2022, he was a Distinguished Research Scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where he worked for 14 years. He has authored over 100 technical articles on energy transition issues and listed among in the Stanford University’s list of the world’s top 2% of scientists (career, 2019 and 2021). Lin is Editor-in-Chief for Journal of Renewable and Sustainable Energy and currently serves on the editorial boards of Transportation Research Part D, iScience and Energy Policy. He served on the U.S. National Academies’ Committee on the Assessment of Technologies for Improving Fuel Economy of Light-Duty Vehicles. Lin received the 2017 Vehicle Technologies Office Distinguished Achievement Award on his contribution to a joint study on CAV energy impact. He also received the 2011 DOE Vehicle Technologies Office R&D Award for his work on modeling consumer choices of advanced powertrain technologies. He received his PhD and MS from University of California, Davis and his BE/MS from Tsinghua University in Beijing.
